The release of Pulsar’s Firmware Update 4.1.0 brings smarter video recording and a refined performance to the Thermion 2 LRF 50 and 60 series of thermal imaging riflescopes.
Features of This Update Include:
Recoil Activated Recording (RAR):
With the new recoil activated recording function, each riflescope in the Thermion 2 LRF 50 & 60 series will now automatically start recording when it detects recoil, capturing not just the moment of the shot, but the moments leading up to and the action immediately after the shot has been taken — lending more context to each and every shot captured.
Shadow Recording:
This intuitive feature ensures memorable moments are preserved, even if you forgot to press record; continuously buffering footage and saving the seconds before activation.
Improved LRF Performance:
Firmware 4.1.0 brings with it an upgraded laser rangefinder algorithm, providing rapid distance readings without disrupting your image — allowing you to stay locked in on your target.
Witness fast, stable distance measurements without any forced magnification changes and no Picture-in-Picture box appearing.
New Green Colour Palette and Easier Colour Mode Selection:
This firmware update introduces the Green colour palette to the Thermion 2 LRF. This green colour palette has been included to enhance viewing comfort over long periods of observation, as it is considered to be less stressful on the eye and therefore reduces the likelihood of eyestrain.
For those who are used to digital night vision optics, this colour palette also aids in the shift from night vision to thermal imaging.
PLUS, colour mode management has been streamlined, enabling quicker switching between colour palettes and allowing for smoother navigation. You can now assign shortcuts and even disable unused palettes, so the process of switching between your most frequently used palettes is now less cluttered.
“User Mode” will now be displayed as “User Settings”, offering greater control and functionality.
Updated Ballistic Calculator and Zeroing Widget:
For enhanced ballistic clarity and even more confidence when shooting, Firmware 4.1.0 updates the ballistic calculator and the zeroing widget to include additional measurement units and clearer on-screen data. This update offers better compatibility with different shooting setups and environmental preferences.

More Features to Check Out with Firmware Update 4.1.0:
- Auto display-off — Turns the Thermion’s screen off when the riflescope is tilted away from the shooting position, preserving battery life and minimising light-bleed, reducing the likelihood of your target spotting you when your riflescope is taken away from your eye.
- USB-C video output — Enables direct connection to compatible devices. Perfect for transferring footage or using as a second screen.
- Increased Wi-Fi Settings Timeout — More time for smooth initial setup and adjustments.
- Enhance User Interface — Provides improved navigation and a more polished visual experience when using the Thermion 2 LRF.
Combining intelligent automation, precision performance, and refined usability into one intuitive update, Pulsar’s Firmware Update 4.1.0 strengthens the Pulsar2 LRF platform even more than it was before.
