Krypton 2 Monocular Series | Pulsar Vision UK & ROI
Exclusive UK & ROI Pulsar Distributor

Effortless thermal transition

The Krypton 2 monocular series features two devices consisting of a powerful thermal imaging unit and the Pulsar 3x20B quick-release monocular (which can be used as an eyepiece). With a special PSP-B adaptor (seen further down this page), each device can also be attached to a daytime spotting scope, converting your daytime optics into a fully-fledged thermal imaging device.

Quick release adaptors make the transition from day optics to thermal imaging (and vice versa), as easy as a twist of the wrist, and a precise positioning mechanism allows for perfect central alignment of the thermal image within your daytime optic’s field of view.

European made
thermal imaging
sensors

European-made thermal sensors allow the Krypton 2 monoculars to pinpoint the smallest heat signature at distances reaching up to 2300m (depending on model), highlighting observed animals’ important anatomical features, along with the smaller details of their surroundings, with exceptional image clarity in any weather and environmental conditions.

Stringent European safety and quality regulations ensure an outstanding performance that only comes with European-made components.

  • The Krypton 2 XG50 monocular features a 640×480, 12 µm, <20 mK sNETD sensor.
  • Krypton 2 XQ35 monocular: 384×288, 17 µm, <20 mK sNETD sensor.

Ergonomic design for
comfortable long-term
observation

The Krypton 2 monocular has been ergonomically designed to allow for easy and comfortable operation, with all control buttons and a convenient focus wheel located on the left-hand side of the device (for left-handed users, a Bluetooth remote is provided). With the battery now positioned on top of the device, weight is evenly distributed enabling fatigue-free handling of the device over long periods of observation. Mounting onto the Pulsar 3x20B monocular is nice and easy, transitioning from day optics to fully-fledged thermal imager with just a twist of the wrist.

Seamless transition
between day and
thermal optics

The Krypton 2 monocular can be mounted to a spotting scope or other compatible day optics using one of four four-point bayonet connectors. Removing and reinstalling the device on these adaptors is quick and easy and their precise screen positioning mechanism enables perfect alignment between the thermal imager and the day optics you are mounting it to.

Crystal-clear images
through full-HD 1920×1080
AMOLED display

Images are presented with outstanding clarity onto a full-HD 1920×1080 AMOLED display, offering a high-contrast picture along with a wide dynamic range and energy saving characteristics. This display’s fast response time ensures a smooth image in which observed objects are well-defined — even when in motion or when the device is used in freezing conditions.

Ample observation opportunities
with up to 11 hours
of battery life

Each model features a removeable, rechargeable IPS7 Li-ion battery, providing an operation time of up to 11 hours (depending on temperature) — keeping the device running for extended periods of observation and providing ample observation time before a recharge is needed.

Enhanced detection
range of up to
2300m

The combination of each device’s sensitive thermal sensor and powerful germanium objective lens achieves extra-long detection ranges, spotting a 1.8m tall heat source at distances reaching up to 1350m (XQ35) and 2600m (XG50) in daylight and total darkness.

Customisable user interface
for greater viewing
comfort

New to the Krypton 2 monocular is the ability to customise your user interface, with device menu and status bars now scalable to match your preferences, enabling a more comfortable viewing experience when changing the magnification of the day optics the device is attached to.

Designed to
endure

Built to endure harsh weather conditions and the everyday bumps, knocks, and scrapes that come with prolonged periods of observation, both entries in the Krypton 2 monocular series feature a rugged magnesium alloy bodyshell that protects the device’s internal electronics and ensures optimum operation in adverse conditions.

IPX7 rated, the Krypton 2 monocular series will remain operational in a wide range of conditions, including heavy rain, dense fog, and high humidity. They’ll even operate unimpeded in extreme temperatures, from -25 to +50°C.

The Krypton 2 Monocular series also features:

Choose from a selection 8 colour palettes

Built-in video recorder with audio & still imaging capture
