Firmware Update 2.5 for Telos Introduces Multiple Usability and Comfort Improvements
The release of firmware update 2.5 for Telos thermal imaging monoculars introduces a wide range of new digital and usability features to the Telos XP50, XG50, XQ35 and their LRF counter parts, including:
Haptic Feedback
The addition of haptic feedback provides a new and convenient way in which to confirm a button press without distracting from the task at hand. This feature will react to any button press with a short and subtle vibration, much similar to haptic feedback on smartphones, and can be activated/deactivated in the main menu on each device.
Display Brightness Control
With firmware update 2.5, you will now be able to reduce the likelihood of eye fatigue even further than before thanks to the ability to control the brightness of all display elements at the same time. Using display dimming at night will significantly increase user comfort whilst simultaneously minimising the risk of an animal spotting any light leakage after dark.
You can even deactivate the LED light at the bottom of Telos monoculars to reduce visibility even further. Again, this can be deactivated/activated in the device’s main menu.
Prolonged Battery Life
When spending long periods in the field, the last thing you want to be worrying about is running out of power, which is why firmware update 2.5 features a new battery saving option which will automatically switch off the device when it has not been used for more than 30 minutes and ensure no unnecessary battery drain occurs. Again, this option can be activated/deactivated in the main menu.
Even More Language Options
Firmware update 2.5 adds new languages to the Telos series of monoculars, with Bulgarian, Finnish, Lithuanian, and Ukrainian added to the many languages already available.
Minor Additions
On top of all these intuitive new features, this update also includes a few minor additions, including a red auto calibration indicator in the status bar which displays a countdown to inform you of an upcoming calibration (when in auto calibration mode), along with the addition of a green square to indicate which part of an image is being magnified when using Picture-in-Picture mode.
